Apple II disk images provided – and sought

So I’m presently working on a video about my Multitech MPF-II, an Apple II clone from 1983. Well, sort of. The MPF-II wasn’t really very compatible with the actual Apple II – Multitech wanted to avoid Apple’s army of lawyers, so they changed the memory mapping a bit – enough to break compatibility with most Apple software. They also provided their own BASIC in ROM, distinct from Apple’s.

In working to get the MPF-II operational and test its present state, I needed to transfer some tape and disk images over. The latter always makes me groan because the only way to do it is via ADTpro. Which means I have to hunt down my Super Serial II card which always disappears somewhere in my shop, and then go through the blessed business of getting ADTPro to run, which, even if it was previously installed and working before, it won’t be now… then sorting through java issues, updates.. finally getting to cables and figuring out which unique combination thereof will finally please the ADTPro gods and let the transfer happen.

In this situation I used my Apple /// as I could not find the darned super serial card at all! No idea where that went!! The cable combination that finally worked was a null modem cable and straight serial cable WITH the breaktout box joining them. I didn’t put ANY special settings on the breakout box.. it just wouldn’t work without it there. Shrug.

So having done that, and having gotten the disks I needed, I decided to finally image the disks for the Yam Soundbuster I showcased in a long ago video.

This was an apparently ultra rare digital synthesizer card. So far only limited documentation has been saved for it. I didn’t like possibly the only copies of the software residing on 40 year old disks, so I had intended to image these and archive them somewhere safe. But because ADTpro is such a bear to get going sometimes, I kept putting it off. Anyway, they’re imaged now and are located here for the time being.. I’m not sure how to submit them to any of the major Apple II software archive sites. Maybe someone seeing this post wouldn’t mind helping on that?

While we are on the topic – I am desperately seeking the program disk for the Apple II version of the Versawriter. For some reason nobody seems to have this archived? If anyone out there has a copy please comment or email me.. I’d happily pay a little bit for your time!
